Our Story
Civaptic was founded by a 25+ year veteran of municipal software, with experience spanning enterprise government-technology vendors like CentralSquare, MUNIvers, and Citylogix. That experience made one thing clear: the category as a whole hadn't kept up with what municipal staff actually need. Municipalities were choosing between aging platforms and enterprise solutions that took years to implement.
Civaptic exists because local government deserves better. A modern, intelligent permitting platform that works the way your building department actually works, and adapts when things change.

Jason Matthews
Founder & CEO
25+ years inside the municipal software industry as a developer, technical lead, product owner, and product manager at companies like Tempest, CentralSquare Technologies, MUNIvers, and Citylogix. Shipped property tax, utility billing, and land management systems used by local governments across Canada and beyond, including leadership roles in multiple 0-to-1 products.
That career gave him a front-row seat to a persistent problem: municipalities stuck choosing between platforms that hadn't kept pace with how departments actually work and enterprise solutions with six-figure implementations and 18-month timelines. He founded Civaptic to build the platform he wished those municipalities had. Modern, AI-native, and designed around how building departments actually work.
